Dr. Horace Roman is surgeon of endometriosis at Franco-European Multidisciplinary Institute for Endometriosis (IFEMEndo) in Bordeaux (France), Burjeel Medical City in Abu Dhabi (UAE), and Spitalul Medicover Cluj (Romania), and Honorary Professor of Endometriosis Surgery at Aarhus University Hospital, Denmark.His practice and clinical research exclusively focus on the laparoscopic and robotic management of patients with deep endometriosis. He has published more than 230 scientific peer-reviewed articles in endometriosis field. Since 2005, he has managed more than 1,900 patients with deep endometriosis infiltrating the digestive tract, more than 300 with endometriosis of the urinary tract, more than 180 with involvement of sacral plexus or sciatic nerves, and more than 100 with endometriosis of the diaphragm. He has already given more than 130 lectures and conferences during meetings on six continents and broadcasted more than 70 live surgeries worldwide. He performed the ENDORE randomized trial comparing radical and conservative surgery for colorectal endometriosis and MESURE randomized trial comparing medical and surgical management for rectal endometriosis. He wrote the protocol of EFFORT randomized trial comparing surgery to IVF in women with colorectal endometriosis and pregnancy intention. He is PhD in epidemiology. His database includes more than 5,000 patients followed up at long term
